The 4th annual New College potluck and gathering at High Cove happens Saturday afternoon, October 12. Or stay the whole weekend for more great food, lively conversation, walks in the woods, and skill shares. High Cove is a 110-acre intentional community in the mountains of western North Carolina, focusing on arts, environmental stewardship, and life-long learning. Founders include NCF alums and professors. We’re an hour from Asheville, 4 hours from Atlanta, and close to Burnsville, Spruce Pine, Penland School of Crafts, the Appalachian Trail, and Blue Ridge Parkway.
In addition to Saturday’s potluck, the weekend’s activities may include:
- beer brewing demo
- artisan bread baking demo
- tiny house tour & talk
- artmakers roundtable (what / how / why you make)
- exploring nearby towns
Is there something you’d like to teach or talk about? Let us know.
A few on-site accommodations, including campsites, are still available at nominal cost. We can also advise about nearby accommodations. Mid-October is usually the peak of leaf season here in the mountains, and there will be lots going on. Email or call to RSVP, or if you have questions or want to share ideas.
